Headwaters Trail

The Headwaters Trail, part of the Portage Park District, is a rail-trail that connects the villages of Mantua and Garrettsville. It is about 8.5 miles long, and follows the old Erie Lackawanna Railroad corridor. The surface is flat and composed of crushed limestone, suitable for most hybrid, mountain, and road bicycles.

The western end of the trail is on Mennonite Road, near the intersection with Mantua Center Road. There is no parking here, however.

Trailhead/parking locations:

The trail dead-ends at its eastern end on State Route 82 (no parking available).
