Century Cycles Is Your Peninsula Bike Shop

We are located on State Route 303 right in the middle of the village of Peninsula, next to the railroad tracks and the Winking Lizard Tavern, and walking distance from the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail (exit at Lock 29), in the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We can be conveniently reached from State Route 8 or Interstate 271 (see directions below).

This store is located on the Adventure Cycling Association's Underground Railroad Bicycle Route and the Ohio to Erie Trail. We are a Business Member of Bike Cleveland.

We offer hybrid bike rentals, electric bike rentals, and fat bike rentals at our Peninsula location so you can explore all the great areas around our shop.

We have comfort hybrid bicycles for rent by the hour at this location only. Rental hours begin at the store opening time; bikes must be returned before the store closing time. Rentals not returned before the store closing time will be charged a late fee. The last time that we let rentals go out is 90 minutes before the store closing time. We also have electric bicycles and fat/snow bikes for rent by the hour.

Directions

Via Interstate 77 from Cleveland:

  1. Take I-77 South and exit at Exit 146 for Ohio Turnpike/I-80/Toledo/Youngstown.
  2. Before the Turnpike toll booths, keep right at the fork, taking the ramp for State Route 21/Richfield.
  3. Turn RIGHT onto State Route 21/Brecksville Rd.
  4. Go about 1/2 mile, then turn LEFT onto Boston Mills Rd.
  5. Go about 1 mile, then turn RIGHT onto Black Rd.
  6. Go about 1 mile, then turn LEFT onto State Route 303/W Streetsboro Rd.
  7. Go about three miles, and we are on the left, just before the railroad tracks.

Via Interstate 271:

  1. Take I-271 and exit at Exit 12 for Richfield/Peninsula/Rt 303
  2. Turn Right onto Rt 303.
  3. Go about two miles, and we are on the left, just before the railroad tracks.

Via State Route 8:

  1. Take Rt 8 to Exit 12 for Peninsula/Hudson/Rt 303.
  2. Turn West onto Rt 303 towards Peninsula.
  3. Go about three miles, and we are on the right, just after the railroad tracks.

Via the Ohio Turnpike:

  1. Take Exit 180 for Akron/State Route 8.
  2. Go South on Rt 8 for about 1 mile.
  3. Take Exit 12 for Peninsula/Hudson/Rt 303.
  4. Turn Right onto Rt 303.
  5. Go about three miles, and we are on the right, just after the railroad tracks.

Parking

Limited parking is available at the store. Please park beyond the end of the building in the open area between the railroad tracks and the river. Please do not park in the driveway adjacent to the front door, delivery door, or rental barn; you will be blocking the doors and preventing other customers from entering or exiting the parking lot.

Please note that all on-street parking in the Village of Peninsula is now paid parking using the PayByPhone app. Please do not park in the Winking Lizard Tavern or Fisher's Cafe & Pub parking lots.

Free parking is available at the Lock 29 Trailhead, located a short walk from the store at 1648 Mill St W, Peninsula, OH 44264. If this lot is full, there is an overflow parking lot just a bit further up Mill Street, on the left across from Terry Lumber & Supply.

We are located conveniently to many other nearby cities and villages, including Akron, Aurora, Brecksville, Boston Heights, Broadview Heights, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Independence, Kent, Macedonia, North Royalton, Northfield, Richfield, Stow, Strongsville, Tallmadge, and Twinsburg.

Restrooms

Our shop is in a historic building dating back to 1893. As such, our plumbing and sanitation facilities to not meet local codes for public use. Sorry for the inconvenience! Public restrooms and a drinking fountain are located at the Lock 29 Trailhead. If you are renting bikes, you will pass by the restroom on the way from our store to the trail. HINT: If you are driving a long distance to get here, park at Lock 29 so you can stop at the restrooms right away! It's a short walk from there to our store.
