2016 Diamondback Insight 2

Diamondback's Insight line have long been rider favorites due to their versatility and ease of use. The Insight 2 continues this tradition of great performance hybrids stacked with features. This year’s bike still has its light and stable aluminum frame and fork, efficient 700c road wheels, a comfortable flat-bar cockpit for an upright riding stance, and quality Shimano drivetrain components. The braking duties are taken care of by powerful Tektro mechanical discs with 160mm rotors. This enhances the Insight 2’s performance even more, allowing one-finger modulation and more control in wet conditions. For charity riders, commuters, and just tooling around the neighborhood, the Insight 2 is a proven performer.

Comments:

Have had it a couple of months and have had it on and off the roads in Colorado. I'm a recreational rider who normally rides on trails and paths a couple of times a month and average 30 - 40 miles each time, I didn't want two bikes so I settled on a hybrid. The diamondback insight was very reasonable and so far has worked out great! I had an older bike and this bike handles well and I bought a large and it fits me well. If you want a light, fun, fast bike without spending a lot, this bike may be for you.

    Comments:

The bike arived four days after being shiped to South Carolina, very fast coming from Utah. Assembly was easy and was riding the bike in 15 minutes. The next day I went on a 15 mile trip on a local bike trail and spent the first 20 minutes making final adjustments to the break leaver position, the handle bar angle and the position of the shifters. The ride was smooth with the frame asorbeing most of the roughness of the path. The shifting at first was rough for the rear derailier and a minor adjustment was made and then the shifting was crisp. This bike went beyond my expectations.

      Comments:

I've had the bike for a couple of months and I am very happy with it. The bike was about 25 lbs as received. The saddle is firm, but I prefer a firm seat for longer rides. The brakes are a little squeaky, but that can be remedied by replacing the pads. The bike handles well and feels solid.

      Comments:

Beautiful bicycle!!! It feels like it's about 17 pounds; maybe a little less. It's detail in the art work is stunning and it's very comfortable to ride. You might want to change the seat because I find it pretty hard and uncomfortable but once you do it's great! :) I just ordered the Clarity 2 because in a matter of minutes while going to the T-mobile store in Brooklyn my bike got stolen with the rack mounted on my car and I only had it for about 1 week [...] Please be careful! It's too pretty to be exposed!

      Good Bike for the Money

      Comments:

For the money it's a good bike, a lot less than a Trek etc... but is a little heavier, no big deal to me. The componets are average, but I have had no problems with the Alivo group so far, you just have to know what you are riding and how to use them and they work fine. The brakes howled like a cat being run over by a tractor at first, and I had to adjust them a few times, but now they are working good, but I will replace the pads soon. I feel the brakes are the weakest part of the bike. The rear rim needs little bit of truing, but it is nothing major. I replaced the tires with some 700X28 kevlar road tires and it rolls much better. I recommend doing this. Also installed some SPD pedals, even better now. The bike fits me well, 30- 40 miles with no discomfort at all. The carbon fork and cane creek headset and triple crank are nice touchs. It is a great commuter, and a nice break from riding my racing bike all the time. If you are looking for a commuter/fitness bike you should consider this one before dropping twice as much on another brand. So far, after about 300 miles, all in all, I am pleased with it.

        Comments:

I use the Insight 2.0 to get around town, periodically to go to work, and to get a workout. It is light and very nimble. It was a breeze using it on this year's GOBA. I heartily recommend this bike.
