Put down the snow shovel and ride a snow bike:
Snow Biking Clinic on Saturday, February 9, in Peninsula

PENINSULA, Ohio – Several inches of snow on the ground usually prevents most people from bicycling. But most people aren’t riding a snow bike. Get a chance to ride one at Century Cycles’ annual Snow Biking Clinic this Saturday, February 9, at 1:30 p.m. – just scheduled to take advantage of the recent snowfall.

Clinic attendees should plan to bundle up for the outdoor clinic. They will learn about snow bike (also called fat bike) technology, take demo rides in the white stuff on the Surly Pugsley and Surly Moonlander snow bikes, and get tips for riding in the snow no matter what bike they own. FREE. No RSVP or bike necessary.

This clinic is only offered at Century Cycles’ Peninsula at 1621 Main Street. For more information and clinic details, go to www.centurycycles.com/goto/clinics or call the Century Cycles in Peninsula at 330-657-2209.

Fat (or snow) bikes are a small but growing trend in the bicycle industry. They are distinctive for their extra wide tires – 4 inches wide on the Surly Pugsley and 4.7 inches wide on the Surly Moonlander. Created to go where standard “all-terrain” bikes flounder, the floatation and traction afforded by large-volume, low-pressure tires can get over and through otherwise unrideable terrain -- sand, mud, wet rocks and roots, ice and many kinds of snow – making them a hot bike from the snowy Midwest to the sandy Pacific coastline for year-round off-road riding.
