Formerly Cleveland Bicycle Week, there are now so many great "bike" things happening in Northeast Ohio that it's now Cleveland Bike Month, to correspond with National Bike Month!

Various organizations in the Cleveland/Akron area have their own events, for all types of bikes and all types of riders! You can find a listing of events on the official Cleveland Bike Month web site at:

Pajama Party Night Ride on the Towpath Trail - May 19

 

On Saturday, May 19, 2012, our regularly-scheduled Century Cycles Night Ride on the Towpath Trail was transformed into a Pajama Party Night Ride! We also collected donations for Project Night Night, in cooperation with Grunt Girl Racing.

Bike To School Challenge

Bay Bike to School Challenge LogoThe Bike To School Challenge has been organized by Century Cycles for the past several years at Bay High School and Bay Middle School. In 2011, the program expanded to Rocky River Middle School, and in 2012, it comes to Medina for the first time! The event begins in all three citites on May 7, and ends on May 25 – inspiring over 4,500 students to ride their bikes to school for three weeks to help the environment, improve their health, better their community, and have fun!

Respect The Bike Exhibit

Respect The BikeThe greatest Ohio-built bicycles of the past, present and future are on display during the month of May at the Greenhouse Tavern in a unique exhibit called Respect The Bike. Included in the collection is a 1941 Goodyear Double Eagle Clipper bicycle, on load from the personal collection of Century Cycles Owner Scott Cowan.

The opening reception for the exhibit is on April 27, 2012, and the exhibit will be on display through the month of May. See this article for more details on the exhibit and Scott's bicycle.
