1. LiveStrong Wrist Bands are Available (while they last)

We have just received a new shipment of the yellow LiveStrong wrist bands, in both adult and youth sizes. They are being sold for $1 each as part of a nationwide effort to help raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. "Wear Yellow" and help the LAF support people affected by cancer.

LiveStrong wrist bands are available now in our Solon and Rocky River stores, and will be available beginning in the afternoon on Friday, November 12, 2004 in our Medina and Peninsula stores.

In order to give everyone a fair chance to support the LAF, we will limit purchases to five wrist bands per customer.

2. Another Great Season of Night Rides on the Towpath

Once a month, April through October, Century Cycles hosts Night Rides on the Towpath. These casual group rides begin at our Peninsula store, which is located right on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

The last ride for the year was on Sat. Oct. 16, 2004. Pictures from the ride are available on our web site at:

5. Kryptonite Lock Exchange Program

Many of you may have seen stories in the media about how many common locks can be picked with a simple household object (i.e. a ball-point pen). This issue can affect any lock that uses a cylindrical-type key, from any manufacturer, and is not limited to just bicycle locks.

Kryptonite, one of the largest manufacturers of such locks, has set up an exchange program for its customers. You can find out if your lock is covered by this program, and how to register for the program, on our web site at:

6. Great Deals on Clothing at our Solon Store

We have just received a selection of manufacturer sample items at our Solon store, from Pearl Izumi, Sugoi, and Hind. We are able to offer them to you at blowout prices! We have long-sleeve jerseys, vests, jackets, and gloves--perfect for the coming cold-weather riding season! Sizes and quantities are limited.

7. Sign Up for Maintenance Classes

This winter, take a break from the cold to learn more about taking care of your bicycle and getting the most out of your cycling activity. We offer classes for all ability levels, at each of our four stores.  All classes are held from 6-8pm in the evening, on the days specified for each class. Class sizes are limited, depending on the space and equipment available in each store location.

Class participants receive a discount on regularly-priced parts, tools, lubes, repair stands, and upgrades purchased during the class. Sorry, but any missed classes can not be made up or refunded. The classes are geared towards standard bikes manufactured after 1985 and are not suitable for recumbents, tandems, bikes with friction shifting, or coaster brake bikes. If you have any questions, please call us.
