We will require a deposit of 50% charged to a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card. We will also obtain your name, address, phone number, and driver's license number. The balance will be paid when you pick up the bicycle(s).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. What is considered a "day?"

A. A "day" for bike rental purposes is considered one 24-hour period. For example, if you pick up a bike at 1:00pm, it must be returned by 1:00pm the next day to be charged the single day rate.

There will be some variation in this due to our hours of operation. For example, if you pick up a bike at 7:00pm on a Thursday, it must be returned by 6:00pm on Friday to be charged the single day rate, since we (usually) close at 6:00pm on Fridays. If you pick up a bike at 11:00am on Saturday, you have until 1:00pm on Sunday to return it to be charged the single day rate, since we don't open until 12:00noon on Sundays.

Hours vary by season; please see our Store Locator page to see the hours that are CURRENTLY in effect.

Q. Can I bring my own pedals?

A. Yes, if you prefer not to use the stock pedals on the bike, you may bring your own pedals, and we will install them on the bike for you.

Q. Can I bring my own saddle?

A. Yes, if you have a preferred saddle, you may bring it and we will install it on the bike for you.

Q. Are emergency repair supplies included?

A. Yes, each bicycle has a seat bag with a spare inner tube, tire levers, patch kit, and CO2 inflator. You will be charged for any of these supplies that are used or missing when you return the bike.

Q. What if I break down and can't get going on my own?

A. Support and pickup service are NOT provided. We recommend that you carry a mobile phone and have access to a friend or taxi service should you need help out on the road.

Q. Are water bottles included?

A. Bring your own bicycle-specific water bottles, or buy some in the store when you pick up the bike.

Q. Can I ride the bike on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail?

A. No, our rental road bikes are for paved surfaces only. Any bikes returned covered with Towpath dust or other signs of abuse will be charged an additional cleaning/maintenance fee.

Try Before You Buy

Have you been thinking about investing in a new bicycle but you're not sure what you want? Try before you buy! Rent a bike and you can apply your rental cost towards a new bike purchase later. Purchase must be made within two weeks of the rental.

Please Note

Century Cycles does NOT have partnerships with any third-party sites offering discounts and/or online reservations for our bicycle rentals. Avoid the use of third-party websites claiming to reserve Century Cycles bike rentals; these are scams.
